The groundwork was laid for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire to be a spectacular sequel. Its predecessor, 2015’s Pillars of Eternity, did the heavy lifting. It proved Obsidian could resurrect the spirit of the old Infinity Engine RPGs for modern times, underpinned by modern technology. Flawed, sure—the original Pillars of Eternity had its problems. Just days after notifying users that bill-pay reminders are coming to Outlook.com, Microsoft took the extra step and said that you’ll be able to soon actually be able to pay those bills via email, too.Outlook.com users will “soon” be able to click a button and trigger payments right from within the Web service’s interface, Microsoft announced at its Build developer conference. Rainbow Six Siege is getting two new Defenders and a new map in the Year Three Season Two update, Operation Para Bellum. Ubisoft describes the map as the “most competitive” to date, which will arrive alongside two new Italian Defenders. It seems likely that the new operators are the two characters allegedly leaked earlier this year. Nintendo Switch doesn’t look like it’s getting Virtual Console, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Nintendo won’t re-release older games. Speaking to Kotaku in the wake of its announcements about the Nintendo Switch online service, a company spokesperson said: “There are currently no plans to bring classic games together under the Virtual Console banner as has been done on other Nintendo systems.” It’s important to note that while it may be abandoning the Virtual Console brand, Nintendo isn’t saying that it will abandon re-releases.
