Rage 2 has a lot going on. There’s a post-apocalypse wasteland. There’s rubble and debris, just, everywhere. And there are a bunch of kaleidoscopic mohawked goons crawling all over it. But when I went hands-on with a small chunk of it at E3 2018, it’s clear there’s also a lot going on with its combat. You’re a Ranger, a kind of wasteland super soldier, that’s just lousy with nanotech coursing through your veins. That gives you access to powerful abilities called Nanotrites which compliment a huge weapon wheel full of the three-Gs: guns, gadgets, and grenades. This essentially gives you…

If there were to be an overpowered character in a My Hero Academia video game I’d assume it’d be All Might (he deserves it), but, to borrow the words from an onlooker, it seems someone on the development really likes Ochaco Uraraka. From what I played in my E3 demo, My Hero One’s Justice does a great job of adapting characters’ Quirks for fun moves, but certainly needs some balancing and a steadier frame rate. A quick note: there are spoilers for villain Quirks in My Hero: One’s Justice, which is something I didn’t really expect going in. If you’re…

Pokemon director, producer, and composer Junichi Masuda shared new details about Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee during Nintendo’s Treehouse Live stream today at E3 2018. Capturing a Pokemon will earn you experience that will be distributed across your entire party. The size of the Pokemon you capture will determine the amount of experience you get. The larger the Pokemon, the more experience your party will receive. Additionally, Pokemon in the wild will be surrounded by an aura to indicate their size, with red indicating a larger than normal creature and blue indicating the Pokemon is smaller than average….

It sure is fascinating to watch Assassin’s Creed reinvent itself. A series that was by and large stagnant for years—even going so far as to return to older design tropes with Unity—it now seems determined to evolve into something entirely new. Something that, if we’re being honest, quite resembles (at least on the surface) The Witcher 3.Last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins was the first step in this process, removing the series from the cities it had outgrown and putting it in a vast, detailed recreation of Ptolemaic Egypt, and then filling Egypt with mysteries big and small. It continues in…

Nintendo’s booth at E3 2018 is heavily Super Smash Bros. Ultimate-themed, with replica weapons, items, and even a life-sized (or bigger?) Smash Bros. Sandbag. There are also some cool setups for Let’s Go Pikachu and other games, but the focus remains heavily on Smash — just like the E3 2018 Nintendo Direct. Here’s a summary of that Nintendo Direct in 2 minutes if you missed it: Check out the gallery below for images of each Smash replica Nintendo is displaying in their E3 2018 booth… Can you identify them all? And here’s a bonus picture of the Let’s Go Pikachu/Evee…

The first gameplay details on CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 have emerged, most notably that unlike Witcher 3, this game is a first-person RPG. This news came during a live gameplay demo behind closed doors at E3 2018. Here are some of the other details that are emerging from the presentation, which is currently still going on. CD Projekt describes the game as a “first-person RPG.” Gameplay is in first a first-person perspective, but switched to third-person during a cutscene. You play a character named V (as in the letter). V can be a man or a woman. The stats you…
