This week, GTA Online sees the return of yet another Year 2 Adversary Mode. Running Back is a fight for supremacy between two teams of vehicle drivers – one team has to get their Runner (driving a smartcar-esque Panto) to the end of the playing field and into the goal zone, while the other team does their best to keep them out of the endzone. Update: GameStop has revealed some of the Red Dead Redemption 2 merchandise previously announced is now available for purchase, and we have a better idea of the items’ price points. The Red Dead blanket will run you $200, while a Red Dead 2 barrel candle costs $99. Two other types of candles cost $79.99 and $49.99. If you love Splatoon 2, Nintendo may have just given you a reason to sign up for 12-month subscriptions to its online membership. In addition to granting access to Splatoon 2’s online multiplayer modes, Nintendo has announced players who spring for the 12-month Nintendo Switch Online memberships (on both individual and family plans) will receive exclusive cosmetic items. Sea of Thieves upcoming update, Forsaken Shores, has been delayed from its September 19 release date to next Thursday, September 27. Amid all the praise for Square-Enix’s JRPG throwback, Octopath Traveler, there are still some common criticisms. Most focus on how the stories for each of the eight main characters only finally loosely overlap in an optional end-game dungeon, and are otherwise entirely separate with minimal inter-party interaction. New Wave Toys is creating a line of mini arcade machines that are 12-inch replicas of classic arcade cabinets called RepliCades. Starting with RepliCade X Centipede and RepliCade X Tempest, these replicas are officially licensed, fully-playable, 1/6 scale versions of the original cabinets. Nintendo Switch Online, the paid online service coming to the Nintendo Switch tomorrow, will not require an always-on internet connection to play its included NES downloadable titles, and will let users play those downloaded games offline for up to seven days. Revealed on the official Nintendo Switch Online FAQ on the Nintendo of America website (as well as Nintendo’s UK website), the complimentary NES games that come with the service aren’t tethered to an active internet connection.
