Bayonetta 1 and 2 are getting special editions for Europe and Japan when they launch early next year. Update: Bandai Namco has revealed a few details about the setting of Soulcalibur VI. The fighting game will take place during the 16th century and revisit the events of the original game to “uncover hidden truths,” according to the publisher. Additionally, Bandai Namco confirmed the game will feature a “diverse lineup of new and returning characters with their unique fighting styles including series mainstays; Mitsurugi and Sophitia.” Original story follows: Bandai Namco has announced Soulcalibur VI, showcasing a brief teaser of the game this evening during The Game Awards. Bringing an MMO to consoles on a controller is always a tricky task, but I was amazed at how much Tera felt right at home when I played it on PS4 Pro this week. The free-to-play online RPG plays more like an action game than most of its MMO competition, relying on actual timing, dodging, and aim over damage dice rolls. Jack Black revealed he’ll be in Psychonauts 2 at The Game Awards. During a Jumanji segment, Black said he’s “good pals” with Double Fine’s Tim Schafer and listed Psychonauts 2 as a game he’s involved with, though he didn’t elaborate on his role. A four-player co-op game called GTFO was announced at The Game Awards. After the trailer reveal, GTFO developer Ulf Andersson said the first-person shooter has an emphasis on teamwork and puzzle solving. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will come out of Early Access and launch 1.0 on December 20. Also announced at The Game Awards, the new desert map is available now on test servers for PUBG, with it heading to Xbox One early next year. New cosmetics will be available in PUBG after its official launch. PUBG Corp. recently clarified these future loot boxes won’t have any items that affect gameplay.
