Activision’s decision to return the Call of Duty franchise to its World War 2 setting has paid off for the company, with Call of Duty: WWII topping the US video game sales charts for November 2017. Crytek is suing Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) for breach of contract and copyright infringement over the use of its CryEngine. The lawsuit, which names both CIG and Roberts Space Industries as defendants, claims the companies “utterly failed to follow through” on the following promises agreed upon in their Game License Agreement (GLA): “(i) to use the CryEngine game development platform exclusively and to promote that platform within the video game, (ii) to collaborate with Crytek on CryEngine development, and (iii) to take a number of steps to ensure that Crytek’s intellectual property was protected.” Continue reading…Powered by WPeMatico

Destiny 2 is celebrating the holiday season with snowball fights, the return of Mayhem mode, weekly Milestone rewards, event-specific gear, and more. Bungie confirmed it is bringing back the holiday spirit with special event “The Dawning,” which lasts from December 19 to January 9. The event will feature exclusive legendary and exotic gear, social space decorations, special Dawning engrams, and gift-giving quests. Pokemon Crystal will become the latest game in the series to get a 3DS Virtual Console release on January 26, 2018. The only major gameplay difference between this version of Crystal and the original is a new encounter with Celebi – the legendary Pokemon that was previously only accessible through an extra accessory. Rocket League developer Psyonix has confirmed the physical version of its acclaimed car soccer smash will be available on Switch in January 2018. Rocket League will arrive on store shelves for Switch on January 16 in North America, January 24 for Australia and New Zealand, and January 25/26 for Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and South Africa.
