You know what they say: never work with kids, animals, and especially dinosaurs. In this final developer diary, the team at Frontier outline not only how you set about making a dinosaur in Jurassic World Evolution, but also how you keep them happy and, more importantly, in their enclosures. If you liked that, well you probably also want to take a look some of the other things we’ve dropped this month. We’ve announced islands, revealed the sandbox mode and shown you how Frontier made its T.Rex. Age of Wonders needed a hook, and I think Triumph finally found it.Writing about Age of Wonders III back in 2014, one of my biggest complaints was that it felt somewhat unnecessary. The fantasy 4X genre is nothing if not crowded these days, and despite Age of Wonders lifting as much influence from Heroes of Might and Magic as it does from Civilization, it still didn’t offer much reason to persist through its cumbersome systems and slog of a story setup. But science fiction 4X? That genre’s considerably more open, especially when it comes to land-based science fiction. In recent years,…

After a year of excessive hype, false starts, and empty promises, these may very well be the last words I will ever need to write about the Essential Phone. Quite frankly, I’ve already written too many.Last May, Android founder Andy Rubin unveiled his post-Google company along with a beautifully rendered website and lots of assertive language. Among the marketing copy that peppered the page were promises to “change how successful technology companies are built forever,” testimonials about why the phone’s use of titanium and ceramic were superior to aluminim and glass, and an explanation of its use of “computational photography”…

It doesn’t sound likely that Overwatch will come to Nintendo Switch. Speaking with Gamespot, Blizzard senior game producer Matthew Hawley discussed the possibilities of Overwatch heading to the hybrid system and mobile devices. “There are challenges in running on the platforms that we’re not already on, otherwise we would probably already be on some of those other platforms,” he said. “We’ll see where things go. Certainly, there is a huge number of people out there who have Nintendo Switch and mobile phones, but right now, the core development team is focused on supporting the live game.” Continue reading…Powered by WPeMatico

Fortnite’s popular 50v50 mode — or something very much like it — might become a permanent fixture in the game, according to Epic. “We’ve heard you about your love for 50v50 and we’re currently evaluating keeping a larger squad mode live at all times for those who enjoy that type of battling more!” the developer said in an update. The 50v50 LTM first went live at the end of last year after it was revealed at…

Valve’s in-home streaming tech is proving to be its most forward-thinking development. And now it’s putting PC gaming…well, anywhere you’d like.To read this article in full, please click herePowered by WPeMatico

More than 1 million players have stepped into the zombie apocalypse with State of Decay 2.
