Marvel’s New Avengers Crossover to Include Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Card

Posted on April 2, 2026

Avengers: Armageddon is already shaping up to be one of Marvel’s biggest projects of 2026, but they’re giving fans extra incentive to pick up the first issue of that major crossover event. All copies of Avengers: Armageddon #1 will come bundled with an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card.

This exclusive card is titled “Warstorm Surge.” Featuring artwork by King in Black artist Ryan Stegman, this card depicts Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man battling Red Hulk in the wartorn ruins of Latveria. Check out the card below:

The Warstorm Surge card will be included with all copies of Avengers: Armageddon #1, including both the standard cover and variant covers. It won’t be sold separately. This issue hits stands shortly before the debut of the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes set on June 26.

For those not aware, Avengers: Armageddon is Marvel’s latest major crossover event, and one that’s being compared to 2004’s Avengers: Disassembled in terms of being a watershed moment with a lasting impact on the Avengers franchise.

Marvel’s official description teases, “Red Hulk’s devastating tear across the globe must be stopped…but it will take a colossal gathering of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to do it! Calling in the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wolverine and more…but who will survive this super-powered cataclysm?! There will be a pre-Armageddon Marvel Universe and a post-Armageddon Marvel Universe. Be here to bear witness to the transformation.”

Avengers: Armageddon is written by Captain America’s Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by artists Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz. The first issue hits comic shops on June 3, 2026. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.

In other Magic news, we recently got a closer look at the Prismari Artistry deck from the Secrets of Strixhaven set.
